Who are we?
Church Interior

Emmanuel Lutheran Church was organized in 1892 and built its first church building on South Lundy Street in Salem, in 1897. In 1928 the congregation moved to its present location on South Broadway Avenue. In 1960 the Parish Education Building was dedicated. Extensive remodeling of the present church was completed in 1966.

We offer strong ministry in the areas of worship, education, and music. Although we are concerned about taking care of our own and encouraging each of our members to grow in their faith, we also have a strong desire to reach out and share the “Good News” with others so that their lives may be enriched by the knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Worship Schedule
Saturdays: 6:30 p.m.
Sunday Mornings: 8:00 & 10:30
Sunday School at 9:15 a.m.
Children's Worship at 10:30 a.m.

We celebrate Holy Communion at all worship services. The nursery is available for Sunday services.

Ash Wednesday is February 22. Services will be held at noon and 7:00 p.m. at Emmanuel. All midday Wednesday Lenten services will be held at Holy Trinity, beginning on Wednesday, February 29 at 12:30 p.m. (Brown bag lunch takes place at noon.)

    February 29 - St. Paul
    March 7 - First Presbyterian
    March 14 - Emmanuel
    March 21 - First Presbyterian
    March 28 - Holy Trinity

Parking for handicapped is available. Our sanctuary and Education Building are accessible to all.

Listening devices are available for the hearing impaired.

Parking is available in a lot located behind the church building at the corner of Ellsworth Ave. and Wilson St.
