![]() The summer is soon turning to fall and September is here. The Blanket Making Group is starting to sew again on the first and third Tuesdays of the month from 9:15 to 11:30 in the morning. We welcome anyone who is interested in helping. If you can cut, sort, or iron material, we can use you. Being able to use a sewing machine is not necessary. In a year’s time (October to October for blankets) we sent 99 blankets to Lutheran World Relief, approximately 300+ walker bags to Salem Community Hospital, and an afghan or quillow to newly baptized babies and young children. Those who helped this year were: Helen Elevick, Dianne Knepper, Joann Moore, Kathie Schneider, Diana Nordquest, and Elaine Weber (who sewed many tops at home). A big THANKS to these women and all who donated to the blanket project. Items we use are material, batting, thread, and yarn. Some of the names of those we know who donated items are: Jean Theiss Chamberlain, Barb Hartman, Sherrie Maroscher, Dorothy McLane, Diana Nordquest, Kate Oesch, Hazel Piriak, Betty Schleimer, Flo Spack, Hilda Spack, Nancy Stumperth, Sally Sweeney, Lois Whitacre, and Doris Lewis (who donated a sewing machine). Watch for our “Swallow in the Barn” lap robe quilt to be raffled for the Pumpkin Patch! God’s Blessings, Kay Stanley To contact us:
