By now, you should all be enjoying the Christmas season and a little bit of snow! First, let's start with a couple of reminders. Although we are through most of the schedule changes by now, be sure to read through the whole newsletter and to keep an eye on the weekly spotlight to make sure you are aware of all of the special events and schedule changes. Also, keep in mind that the back entrance of the church will be cleared first on days when we have lots of snow.

I would like to remind everyone that our 2012 Annual meeting will be held on Sunday, January 29. It is important that we have as many people there as possible. This is the best opportunity for you to be updated on all of the activities within the church and for you to give your input on how we can continue to make Emmanuel Lutheran better.

By now, most of you have probably received one or more messages from our new phone messaging system. We are currently in the testing phase and would love any feedback that you can offer. We hope that many of you will find this system very useful. Please keep in mind that we do not want this to be an annoyance or unwanted distraction to anyone. I believe there are options when you receive a message that will allow you to “opt out” of future messages if you wish. If you have any problems, do not hesitate to contact the church office for assistance.

As is always the case this time of year, the Nominating Committee is hard at work trying to find willing replacements for Council seats where terms are ending. There are also other miscellaneous positions to be filled. Please consider accepting one of these positions if you are approached. If you are not approached, and you would like to serve, please contact myself or the church office so we can put you in touch with the Nominating Committee. We can always us some “fresh blood!” I’m just kidding, of course. You shouldn’t bleed too much. It doesn’t even hurt that bad!
